Pure Gold
The programmers could all smell that something was amiss. None of them said it aloud and, instead, they sought to perfect something that was already perfect. As the day drew nearer to the Announcement of the fifth round, each of them grew steadily more guarded. The anomalies, as they referred to them, had been small: the shiny zubat, the crystals whose reflections were inaccurate, the occasional glitch of the digital beasts. But it was the existence of these anomalies that disconcerted each of them.
Richard Abbot could sense it also, but what else was there to do? Inevitably, and whether he liked it or not, the show must go on.
J.C. Leander showcased his perfectly white smile as he appeared on stage, without an inkling. A few mumbles shifted over the crowd. Where was Hero? Leander gave them no answer. Instead, he gave the Announcement and at the same time he decided what he had here was gold.

Deadline: January 30th, 2013 Round Four In order to test your ability to adapt to sudden changes, trainers will be placed into one on one match-ups in the newly modified "weather dome". Throughout this round, the weather and conditions shall change drastically and trainers should be prepared for any eventuality.
Rain, sun, snow, hail, and sand will be coming and going as it pleases, but everyone is urged to stay calm as these conditions are all controlled and monitored.
Each trainer will be allowed 3 pokemon and the first to defeat all their opponent's pokemon shall win the match.
Let's hope you can think on your feet ~
The Task The goal of this round is to quite simply defeat your opponent in a one on one match.
One should be sure to incorporate the weather changes as we are looking to see how well writing/drawing as well as the story can adapt to changes.
Match ups can be found below.
Rules and Guidelines
- Drawn Entries do not have to be in full color.
You are more than welcome to do grayscale or simple shading, but remember that we
will only accept entries that are finished. Sketches and lineart will not be considered complete.
- All part of your entry must have a link to your application and a link to the rest of the pages.
A lot of you didn't do this last round and we would very much like it if you did this time. This makes navigating easier when it comes time to judge. We would also appreciate if you would title your entries with Round 4 in some way.
- Anything in Artist Comments will not be considered in judging.
So if you write a lovely story to go along with your picture in your artist comments, it will not improve your score at all. Drawn entries must be able to tell a story on their own.
- All visual media is allowed.
This means you may do flash, comics, or a series of illustrations. So long as it is a complete entry that can effectively explain what happened to your trainer during the round, we will accept it into judging.
The Weather Dome Information: While the weather in this dome may be a bit out of wack, the terrain itself is not. The area is a fairly simple, grassy field surrounded by high rock walls and a thin outcropping of trees. There are no wild pokemon currently roaming, but that should be the least of their problems.
This dome's weather modifications will cause sporadic changes in weather including intense sunlight, hail, heavy rain, sandstorms, and thick fog. Trainers should be ready to adjust at all times as it may very well be their only chance of winning.
Judging Each trainer will once again be judged individually for this round to result in an average score. Those with the lowest average will not move on to the next round.
Both types of entries will be judged on:- Creativity – How uniquely you complete the challenge
- Flow – How well you keep the story moving and entertaining without letting anything fall flat.
- Accuracy – How well you portray other characters, your own character, and if you follow the theme and guidelines of the round.
- Completeness – How polished and finished your entry is. For writers this means editing/grammar/spelling and for artists this means not submitting sketchy or incomplete pieces of art.
